9th Industry Symposium – 2019
(in conjunction with 15th ICDCIT – 2019)
10th – 13th January 2019

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India

Call for Chapters on Internet of Things – Enabling Technologies, Security and Social Implications.

The 9th industry symposium will held during 10-13th January 2019 in conjunction with 15th edition of ICDCIT. Since its inception in 2011, the symposium means to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners from industry concerning the challenges, findings, encountered obstacles and lessons learned on recent global trends in technology. Keeping the symposium objective in mind this edition of Industry Symposium has picked of Internet of Things- enabling technologies, security and social implications.

Internet of things(IoT) is the integration of objects with the world of internet to participate effectively in all aspects of daily life. With billions of IoT devices, arise around us providing computing intensive and delay-sensitive services, multiple computing paradigms emerge, such as mobile transparent computing, fog computing, edge computing etc. Aspects such as low processing power and small storage capacity of IoT devices contribute to their typically poor built-in security and forensics capabilities. It is essential to pursue fundamental research on new components, techniques, and architectures to achieve security, energy-efficient sensing, communications and networking in a shared spectrum environment for IoT. Cyber-physical systems(CPSs) can provide both improved and new functionality with efficiency and convenience; but the increasing use of CPSs and their application to key infrastructure components means that failures can result in disruption, damage and even loss of life. A CPS is naturally vulnerable to network failures and malicious interference. It is essential to develop CPSs which are reliable(or trustworthy).

In order to invigorate discussion on the topics, the symposium plans for presentations by selected participants during symposium. It also plans for bringing out a book (Like previous years, Springer will be approached for publication of the proposed book) covering the following topics but not limited to.

  • IoT Architecture, Services and Applications
  • IoT enabling technologies
  • Security and Forensics of Internet-of-Things
  • Spectrum and Energy Efficient Communications for Internet of Things
  • Reliable and Resilient Cyber-Physical Systems
  • Social implications of IoT

Chapters from practitioners, technology developers as well as researchers are solicited on the above topics but not limited to as long as it is related to Internet of Things. The submitted chapters will go through reviews and the selected ones will be included in the book.

Authors are requested to send abstract and chapter to [email protected]
