6th Industry Symposium

Call for Chapters on Trends in Software Testing

Industry Symposium has been a successful satellite event of ICDCIT series. It started in the year 2011 as an event of ICDCIT and now it is in its 6thedition. The symposium will be held during 15th - 18th January, 2016 in conjunction with 12thedition of ICDCIT.

The theme chosen for ICDCIT-16 industry symposium is Software Testing. The symposium invites chapters on ‘Trends in Software Testing’. The symposium is tailored to be useful for master as well as research students. The chapters selected by reviewing process, will be included in a book. Like the last year, the book will be published by Springer (waiting for Springer acceptance).

Content Coverage

Software and computers are now being used for number of applications so much so that such usages previously were hardly imagined. Currently, challenges in software usages are with quality software. Quality software in reality not only with technology but also with software itself. A software passed through rigorous verification and validation is assured of quality. There is a need to ensure quality through testing all along the Software development life cycle. Defects / bugs / omissions / commissions have to be identified as early as possible. Planning has to be carried out to do the software testing activities in tandem with development, with foresight towards handling risk. Again, testing has to be inexpensive and time saving. In view of challenges and usability of software testing possess, the symposium intends to follow the current trends in software testing. For the purpose the symposium seeks chapters on trends and best practices followed in software testing. The topics covered are the following but not limited to:

Applications of Software Testing
  • Testing Intelligent systems
  • Testing Evolving systems
  • Testing Autonomous Software
  • Testing Cloud applications
  • Testing Discovery and communication among applications
  • Testing Security in applications
  • Testing Service Oriented Applications
  • Testing Social media applications
  • Testing Data analytics applications
  • Testing Mobile applications
  • Testing Internet of things applications
  • Testing machine - machine interfaces
  • Testing Real Time systems
  • Holistic testing: Testing beyond the software, to test products and application environments
Software Testing methodologies
  • Knowledge based Software Testing
  • Search based software testing
  • Testing using cloud
  • Agile Testing Practices
  • Effective Risk Based Testing
  • Testing in every phase of the SDLC
  • Testing software by autonomous test software
  • Static program analysis
  • Dynamic program slicing
  • Automated testing: Scope and techniques
  • Formal model-based software testing
  • Testing early!
  • Refactoring test cases and tests
Software Test Management
  • Re-planning test plans dynamically
  • Test cost optimization
  • Quality and risk management
  • Rapid / Flexible set up of Test environments
  • Test metrics
  • Tools for Test Automation
  • Test Outsourcing

We hope that the contributions to this book will set the foundation for a new look at software testing and the role it plays in ensuring the dependability and reliability of the software, that is today an integral part of our lives. Authors are requested to send abstract and chapter to [email protected] .
